ACNC Registered Charity · ABN 13 025 603 530 Sunshine & Cooloola Coasts · Since 1982

Since 1982, nobody here does multiples alone.

For over forty years, SCMBA has been the village for Sunshine Coast families raising twins, triplets and more — a volunteer-run association built by parents who needed it, for parents who need it now.

Our story

Built by parents who needed it.

In 1982, a handful of Sunshine Coast parents — outnumbered by their own babies — started meeting to share what no book could teach them: how to feed two at once, how to survive on broken sleep, and how to laugh about it all anyway.

Four decades on, the association they founded still runs entirely on volunteers. Every playgroup host, every committee member, every expectant-parent speaker is a local mum or dad who remembers exactly how those early days feel.

Today we support families across the Sunshine and Cooloola coasts with education, friendship and social inclusion — because multiples parenting is a team sport, and every family deserves a team.

What we're made of

Three things we give every family.

Education

Multiples-specific knowledge you can actually use — expectant-parent sessions, guest-led events on sleep, nutrition, behaviour and development, and the hard-won wisdom of parents a few years ahead of you.

Friendship

People who don't blink when you say you got ninety minutes of sleep. Weekly playgroups and parent catch-ups where being outnumbered is completely normal — and completely understood.

Social inclusion

Multiples families can find ordinary groups hard to crack — two babies, one set of hands. Our events are designed so every family can actually come, join in and belong.
