Privacy Policy.
Last updated: August 2026. Families trust us with their details — and often their kids'. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect and how carefully we look after it.
Who we are
Sunshine Coast Multiple Birth Association Inc (ABN 13 025 603 530) is a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC), supporting multiples families across the Sunshine & Cooloola coasts since 1982. You can reach us at info@scmba.org.au or PO Box 433, Buderim QLD 4556.
We are committed to handling personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
What we collect
We only collect what we genuinely need to run a safe, welcoming association. Depending on how you connect with us, that may include:
- Contact details — your name, email, phone and suburb, when you email us or use a form on this site.
- Membership details — parent names, contact details, children's names and birth dates, so we can run playgroups and events suited to your family's stage.
- Volunteer details — Blue Card information and references for members working directly with children.
- Health or support notes — anything you choose to share (for example, allergies or additional needs) so we can keep your children safe and included at our gatherings.
A special word about children
Information about children is provided by parents or guardians, is visible only to the volunteers who need it to run sessions safely, and is never published. Photos of identifiable children are shared (for example, in member newsletters or social posts) only with a parent or guardian's permission.
How we collect it
Directly from you — by email, through the mail-to forms on this website, by phone, or on paper forms at playgroups and events. The forms on this site simply open your own email app; nothing you type is stored on this website or sent to a third-party server.
Why we collect it
- To respond to enquiries and welcome new families.
- To manage memberships and run playgroups, sessions and events safely.
- To coordinate volunteers and meet our child-safety obligations.
- To meet our legal and ACNC reporting obligations.
Who we share it with
Only the people who need it, and never for sale. The committee and relevant session volunteers see what they need to support your family; regulators such as the ACNC may receive information where the law requires it. That is the full list.
How we protect it
Information is held in access-limited accounts used only by authorised committee members and volunteers. We keep personal information only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law, and then delete or de-identify it.
Cookies & analytics
This website uses no cookies, no analytics trackers and no advertising pixels. Your visit here is your business.
Access & correction
You may ask at any time to see the personal information we hold about you or your children, or to have it corrected or deleted. Email info@scmba.org.au with the subject line "Privacy request" and we will respond within a reasonable time — at no charge.
Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled personal information, please contact us first at info@scmba.org.au so we can put it right. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be published on this page with its "last updated" date shown above.
